jesuspaidmybail asked:
I really want to lose like 10 to 15 pounds before summer. All the diet plans I’ve seen include meat. I am a vegetarian and need a good plan to follow. (If you’re going to tell me to eat fish, then don’t answer because you don’t know anything about being a vegetarian. Not trying to be rude but I get sick of explaining that you are not a vegetarian if you eat fish)
Thanks!
In response to the person who said I shouldn’t feel guilty for eating meat because it’s in the bible. I know what the Bible says about eating meat, believe me I scoured the pages befor ei decided to go veggie. What finnaly did me over was the fact that the Bib;e was written thousands of years ago, way before factory farming or the needless abuse and cruelty of the animals that are killed for food today. Back then the animals roamed around in a pasture and lived happy lives until the were killed. Today things are much different. Please head on over to www.goveg.com or www.peta2.com and check out the videos they have there. I highly suggest “Meet your meat.”

How in the world can you need to lose any weight if you are a vegetarian?

If you’re still eating sugar and white flour, cutting those out would definitely help you to lose weight. A brisk 30 min walk daily would also help.
A plan? 6-11 servings of grains/day
3 servings of nuts, seeds, soy, or legumes/day
3+ servings of veggies including at least 2 servings of sprouts or dark green veggies that will give you calcium and protien ( if you don’t eat dairy).
3+ servings of fruits/day
limit butter and saturated fat to 0-1 servings/day
Don’t worry if you have a plate full of plain brown rice, apple, and a pile of spinach with pecans and lemon juice, olive oil, and salt and pepper on it because you don’t see what TV and magazines advertise. That is a perfectly healthy meal.
Cut the dairy and egg prodcuts out and go vegan! I was a vegetarian, I went vegan and lost about 15 pounds in 3 months without even increasing my exercise! Plus almost everything you eat is nutrient dense, so you feel healthier and energized.
